Arrowhead work is done - Yeah!

Post  IMPRESARIO on Thu Sep 03, 2009 5:20 pm

With the renovations complete at Arrowhead we are going to get some more love at Claystone. They did provide more trash cans. Lets use them! And it wouldn't hurt any of us to pick up someone else's trash either. I've got a list of items for the maintenace team. Let me know anything you guys know of for the course. Also you may have noticed one nice boater decided to tie his boat to the #15 tee sign and its now in the lake. I'd hoped to catch the guy personnally so I could umm explain things to him. I've brought it to the rangers attention. They have plans to put up poles for the boaters to use. Maybe we can add some entertainment for the upcoming FnP Moonlight Classic Wink Wink I've put a lot of my to do list on hold til I get done with moving into the new house. So, I'll be off and running soon with some exciting news for Macon Disc Golf.

1. The biggest need to to level the fairway and add grass on the left side of 15, but I know that is a big task.
2. Mark the drop zone on 15. Maybe add a teepad with a sponsor. It would also double as a novice alternate pad.
3. We might want to elevate the Mado sign on 3 so that cannot be missed.

I have not been out in a while. Is the sign on one finished?

Are there any plans to take care of the remaining mess from the tornado? ( the downed trees and massive piles of limbs and sticks that still ruin the front nine.) Not bitching ,just wondering.

I think we can get them back on the list of to do items, like the front 9, now that they have finished with Arrowhead. I'm going to set up a meeting for next week to discuss what is left to do.

How do you feel about golf carts and disc golf? Not at Claystone but in general.

I am suprised you even had to ask. It' a golf cart, hell yeah! Rubbin's racin', I mean golfing. But , really a disc golf course big enough to need carts. If it were in the mountains then I could see it, maybe a 36 hole course. Why do you ask?

The mando sign is still there( hole 3 ) by the way. It is very camoflauged now. Had to look pretty hard to see it off the tee. Still there though.

If you haven't been out to the course lately. SHAME ON YOU!!! Wink Wink But seriously, the park crew built a bridge over the mud hole on the #5 fairway and another small bridge over the creek from #8 basket to the #9 Tee box. There is an issue with sand on the #9 tee box now but over all its still an improvement.

Paid a visit to the Rock ysterday. Wow, things are looking good around there. Nice trashcan holders w/trashcans no less, bridges over the soggy spots in the woods, nice wood sign posts marking each tee pad( some of the sign are pretty bent up though) and even some much needed gravel around the #17 tee pad. Over all things are a lot better and it looks as if they intend to keep improving.

A big thanks to the county and park crew for a job well done.
